What is the difference between LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE?
2022-03-17

1. Different densities. The density of LDPE is 0.91g/cm3-0.93g/cm3, which is the lightest variety of polyethylene resin; The density of LLDPE was 0.918-0.935 g/cm3.The density of HDPE is 0.941~0.960g/cm3, which is the highest among the three.

2. Different melting points. LDPE melting point is 110~115, processing temperature is 150~210, if in the inert gas, the temperature can reach 300 is still stable. However, the melt is easily degraded if contacted with oxygen. LLDPE melting point is 110~125. HDPE melting point of 130.

3. Different usage. LDPE application including: suitable for seasoning, pastry, sugar, preserves, biscuits, milk powder, tea, dried fish/pork floss and other food packaging. Pharmaceutical tablet, powder and other packaging, shirts, clothing, knitted cotton products and chemical fiber products and other fiber products packaging. Washing powder, detergent, cosmetics and other daily chemical products packaging. Because of the poor mechanical properties of single-layer PE film, it is usually used as the inner layer of composite packaging bag, which is, multi-layer composite film heat sealing base material.

LLDPE has penetrated most of the traditional markets for polyethylene, including film, molding, tubing and wire and cable. Leakproof mulching film is a new development in the LLDPE market. Mulching film, a large extruded sheet used as a landfill and waste pond liner to prevent leakage or contamination of the surrounding area.

HDPE is used in extrusion packaging film, rope, woven bag, fishing net, water pipe; Injection molding low-grade daily necessities and shells, non-load-bearing components, plastic boxes, turnover boxes; Extrusion blow - molded containers, hollow products, bottles.
